The supporters of Ciruel Academy booed when River CBBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Abechuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Grijander scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ubaldo Matildo Fillol, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to River CBBA getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Artur Abechuco hit a great ball. In the 31st minute of the match River CBBA got a corner. Ciruel Academy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tobias Abarca ran over to the corner to take the kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucas Grijander in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ubaldo Matildo Fillol prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Coronel Durango hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Ciruel Academy's Jacob Alavedra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Ciruel Academy from getting a goal against them. After 42 minutes Ciruel Academy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tobias Abarca who took care of the corner kick. River CBBA's Alejandro Montenegro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jacob Alavedra in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ubaldo Matildo Fillol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Coronel Durango in the 44th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Khairul Swee to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Abechuco during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
