Moisés Arruda started the match with the kick off. Juninho Freire stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moisés Arruda's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. After 5 minutes Motta Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Samuca Leal who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Samuca Leal almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Motta Futebol Clube's Juninho Freire did a great save. Ique Football Club's João Francisco Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guilherme Arana in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th minute Ique Football Club were awarded a corner. Samuca Leal went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Ique Football Club's Ricardo Travassos getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Freire in the 13th minute of play forced Ique Football Club's goalkeeper João Francisco Leme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Francisco Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elias Freire's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aimar Aimar in the 26th minute of play forced Motta Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Juninho Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aimar Aimar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Juninho Freire when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Aimar Aimar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 31st minute 吕震强 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco Leme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aimar Aimar scored 1-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juninho Freire, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elias Freire to strike the kick off in the second half. 吕震强 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco Leme having to interfere. In the 52nd minute of the match, Zeca Esteves tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but João Francisco Leme saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 53 minutes into the match, Ique Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Freire came free, but João Francisco Leme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juninho Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés Arruda, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Aimar Aimar might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juninho Freire. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aimar Aimar ran back to his position shaking his head. Ique Football Club's Roberto Souza was substituted for Hélder Bueno. After 61 played minutes Ique Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Sampaio. The long shot by Zeca Esteves in the 62nd minute really tested João Francisco Leme's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Motta Futebol Clube's Zeca de Azevedo was substituted for Zeca Esteves. Ique Football Club were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Motta Futebol Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Samuca Leal took the corner. The corner led Ique Football Club's Samuca Leal to fire away a dangerous shot which Juninho Freire despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Zeca de Azevedo's late challenge caught a Ique Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zeca de Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. If Aimar Aimar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the game, Moisés Arruda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ique Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Motta Futebol Clube the free kick. The supporters of Motta Futebol Clube booed when Ique Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ique Football Club's João Francisco Leme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Ique Football Club from getting a goal against them. If Zeca de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aimar Aimar in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juninho Freire prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Motta Futebol Clube! Motta Futebol Clube:s Juninho Freire showed great skill when he stopped Aimar Aimar:s penalty. After 94 minutes of play Ique Football Club's Moisés Arruda was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Motta Futebol Clube booed when Ique Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ique Football Club fans cheered their team off the field, for while Motta Futebol Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
