Dennis Beerthuis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxin Valonga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Gert Jan van Westerop put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Marz Arratia. Bobby Cruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dennis Beerthuis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 50th minute of play. 50 minutes into the match, Bobby Cruz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dennis Beerthuis. Winthont FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bobby Cruz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 78 minutes of play, Winthont FC's Kadim Argun made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marz Arratia was left in no man's land by his defense there! 82 minutes into the match, Winthont FC's goal looked a bit too open when Maxin Valonga came free, but Dennis Beerthuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Atlético Municipal booed when Winthont FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
