An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxi López in the 3rd minute of play forced C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's goalkeeper Ingvar Hellkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A. Korn's Augusto Batalla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Armando Maradona in the 4th minute of play. Diego Armando Maradona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Batalla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by A. Korn's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Roland Smolarek was slow to take the kick. During this time C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Roland Smolarek got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Augusto Batalla quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Herminio Vincente fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's protests and gave Herminio Vincente a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Herminio Vincente got a free kick in the 13th minute. A. Korn's Nicolás De la Cruz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Paul Cangeopol, made in the 15th minute of the game. Augusto Batalla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Armando Maradona, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 19 minutes of play C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Herminio Vincente was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of A. Korn booed when C Ａ R D I N Ａ L was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herminio Vincente didn't get a good kick on the ball. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L made a substitution. Tahsin Paksu replaced Emanuel Buciuman. In the 21st minute, Herminio Vincente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Maxi López had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diego Armando Maradona in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augusto Batalla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A. Korn's attentive Nicolás De la Cruz managed to snatch the ball when Paul Cangeopol made a throw-in in the 27th minute of the game. In the 32nd minute, Alejo Cilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Diego Armando Maradona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Augusto Batalla was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tahsin Paksu in the 45th minute of play forced A. Korn's goalkeeper Augusto Batalla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Nicolás De la Cruz fired a really elegant long shot, but Ingvar Hellkvist threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maxi López to strike the kick off in the second half. Diego Armando Maradona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 53 minutes into the match, Diego Armando Maradona notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of A. Korn's Augusto Batalla. Augusto Batalla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to C Ａ R D I N Ａ L getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Cazimir Bărbătescu hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's zone, Maxi López stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ingvar Hellkvist came out of the goal and Maxi López tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Tahsin Paksu in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A. Korn's goalie prevented a goal. In the 64th match minute, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horea Vrejiu to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes into the match, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolás De la Cruz came free, but Ingvar Hellkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st match minute, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Isias to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, A. Korn's Jonas Thorsberg got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 79th match minute, A. Korn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejo Cilio to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute, Maxi López got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicolás De la Cruz took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ingvar Hellkvist. Ingvar Hellkvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Paul Cangeopol was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. After 92 played minutes C Ａ R D I N Ａ L got a freekick which was hit by Paul Cangeopol. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Tahsin Paksu got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A. Korn were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
