Hermínio Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Holmberg in the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Vila Zumbi's goal looked a bit too open when Zygmunt Koprowski came free, but Hermínio Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samba Fotboll U21's Ronnie Meck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Almir Salgado in the 15th minute of play. The Vila Zumbi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hermínio Silva should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Vila Zumbi's Hílton de Brito got a free kick in the 43rd minute.
