Geovanildo Mendi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 53rdth minute of the game Alexandre Aposan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vila Zumbi's Geovanildo Mendi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almir Salgado in the 62nd minute of play forced Ogro F.C.'s goalkeeper Pedro Paulo Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vila Zumbi were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Ogro F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gigel Tofan took the corner. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Dadá Maravilha put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Paulo Penha. After a rather tough play, Vila Zumbi's Hílton de Brito got a free kick in the 80th minute. Geovanildo Mendi made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Mario Duplantier sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Vila Zumbi getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Diogo Cosme hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mario Duplantier got free with Geovanildo Mendi in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
