If Karl-Michael Brask had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Michael Brask in the 16th minute of play forced Thunderstorm Riders's goalkeeper Miguel do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Thunderstorm Riders getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ponce Cruzado charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ponce Cruzado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Thunderstorm Riders booed when Batalionul U23 Dorobanti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ponce Cruzado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The wind increased when Karl-Michael Brask made the kick off in the second half. Miguel do Vale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wagner Doro went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Miguel do Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wagner Doro's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute, Leonard Pochorylo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Igor Kelemen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Miguel do Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karl-Michael Brask in the 77th minute. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Michael Brask was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Leonard Pochorylo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Igor Kelemen was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti made a substitution. Mădălin Geamănu replaced Adrian Isăilă. Miguel do Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Batalionul U23 Dorobanti. After 93 played minutes Thunderstorm Riders got a freekick which was hit by Korneliusz Kolba. Ponce Cruzado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Miguel do Vale having to make a save. The Batalionul U23 Dorobanti supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Batalionul U23 Dorobanti would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
