The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Robert Enke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcello Lewandowski's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute Tribos were awarded a corner. Pedrinho Figueiredo went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Jaroslaw Winograd heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Marcello Lewandowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Robert Enke made a huge save. When Gabriel Távora came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Terceirense F.C. fans jumped to their feet. After 39 minutes Terceirense F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pedrinho Figueiredo who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Pedrinho Figueiredo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Terceirense F.C.'s Robert Enke did a great save. In a very dangerous position, a player in Terceirense F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 42 minutes, Tribos's Jaroslaw Winograd got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Robert Enke. Terceirense F.C.'s Robert Enke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Terceirense F.C. from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
In the 51st minute Marcello Lewandowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Enke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tribos's Christopher Sjögren quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Valter Lucena, made in the 56th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcello Lewandowski in the 62nd minute of play forced Terceirense F.C.'s goalkeeper Robert Enke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robert Enke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcello Lewandowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Tribos's Edvin van der Saar got control of the ball when Gabriel Távora tried to sneak it across the goal line. Terceirense F.C.'s Robert Enke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcello Lewandowski in the 67th minute of play. Terceirense F.C. made a substitution. Mário Rijo replaced Aldo Anjos. After 70 minutes Terceirense F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pedrinho Figueiredo who took care of the corner kick. Pedrinho Figueiredo made a great header on Tribos's corner, it was just that Terceirense F.C.'s Robert Enke managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tribos's goalkeeper Edvin van der Saar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-1 in the 78th minute. Edvin van der Saar made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Anselmo Baldaia sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Anselmo Baldaia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edvin van der Saar was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. 87 minutes into the match, Terceirense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Faria came free, but Robert Enke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Marcello Lewandowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Enke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Baldaia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edvin van der Saar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
