The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edward Engström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prospero Abad in the 7th minute of play. Club Almirante Brown's Gualterio Shepherd managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sacha Groves in the 10 minute of the game. After 14 minutes of play, Greenbay's Mesut Özil made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Isidoro Dolfos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ashley Ross kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to Club Almirante Brown getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gualterio Shepherd hit a great ball. Greenbay's Deon Bye shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 20th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Isidoro Dolfos but with some difficulty. 23 minutes into the match, Club Almirante Brown's goal looked a bit too open when Ashley Ross came free, but Isidoro Dolfos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidoro Dolfos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddie Waterhouse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isidoro Dolfos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ashley Ross, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Greenbay's Mesut Özil got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gualterio Shepherd's late challenge caught a Greenbay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gualterio Shepherd helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Club Almirante Brown getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Gualterio Shepherd hit a great ball. In the 47th minute Guido Bautista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Engström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Greenbay's Ashley Ross in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Almirante Brown's goalie prevented a goal. Club Almirante Brown made a substitution. Aristides Rayman replaced Wilfredo Segio. A collision led to Greenbay getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Deon Bye hit a great ball. The supporters of Greenbay booed when Club Almirante Brown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristides Rayman didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Greenbay's Edward Engström got control of the ball when Guido Bautista tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 74th minute, Greenbay's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vladimiro Remigio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Mesut Özil might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isidoro Dolfos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mesut Özil ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Ashley Ross sped through Club Almirante Brown's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Isidoro Dolfos. If Mesut Özil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Guido Bautista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edward Engström was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Guido Bautista took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Edward Engström to make any attempt to save it. Chants of Club Almirante Brown echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Greenbay had held the ball for most of the match.
