Iker Shepherd's late challenge caught a Suleskard's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iker Shepherd helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Suleskard booed when Sacro Balompié was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iker Shepherd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Apolo Peto was the one to do the kick off. Sacro Balompié made a substitution. Igor Macario replaced Basilio Bernat. Apolo Peto hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. When Franco Baresi fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sacro Balompié's protests and gave Franco Baresi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sacro Balompié getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Franco Baresi hit a great ball. Sacro Balompié's Cristian Lorien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredrik Molland in the 71st minute of play. Rodrigo Huilipan made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Fernando Oro sent off a good shot on target. Sacro Balompié's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hermengildo Mazuste in the 75th minute. In the 92nd minute, Fredrik Molland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Suleskard had won after a very even match.
