Ambrosio Peruxu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgar Barreto in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andoni Zubizarreta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Valencia C.F. had won after a very even match.
