Amílton Machado's late challenge caught a Sportivo Chupeño's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvestre Abancens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ariando Abeijon in the 7th minute of play. With a little luck, Sportivo Chupeño's Baiona Abadie got control of the ball when Abelardo de Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Baiona Abadie made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Toninho Vale sent off a good shot on target. Lucas-David Lucena was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 12 minutes into the match. Sportivo Chupeño:s Baiona Abadie showed great skill when he stopped Dário da Cunha:s penalty. 14 minutes into the game, Raimundo Abecia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sportivo Chupeño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matungo Gaúcho the free kick. After 14 played minutes Sportivo Chupeño got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Abecia. Guillermo Abajas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé de Senna having to interfere. Zé de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvestre Abancens, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Matungo Gaúcho's Zé de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Abancens in the 27th minute of play. Zé de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Abajas in the 28th minute of play. Raimundo Abecia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 33 minutes into the game, Sportivo Chupeño's Silvestre Abancens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé de Senna made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 35th match minute, Sportivo Chupeño was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimundo Abecia to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute Guillermo Abajas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matungo Gaúcho's Zé de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Abancens in the 41st minute of play. When Toninho Vale fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matungo Gaúcho's protests and gave Toninho Vale a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Matungo Gaúcho's Toninho Vale got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Sportivo Chupeño's Romildo Abella got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the game, Guillermo Abajas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Zé de Senna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Matungo Gaúcho players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sportivo Chupeño were winning 0-3.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dário da Cunha was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Matungo Gaúcho's Zé de Senna got control of the ball when Guillermo Abajas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dário da Cunha hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute, Toninho Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the game, Sportivo Chupeño's Guillermo Abajas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sportivo Chupeño's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toninho Vale was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 89th minute, Guillermo Abajas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the match, Matungo Gaúcho's goalkeeper Zé de Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillermo Abajas. Zé de Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvestre Abancens in the 97th minute of the match. Sportivo Chupeño played a much better game than Matungo Gaúcho and deserved their victory. The Matungo Gaúcho players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
