The audience thought a goal was coming when Camillo Tellini got free with Prospero Matxin in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, Ernesto Margoni dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Prospero Matxin, 1-0. After a rather tough play, 17 de enero team's Cleto Estebano got a free kick in the 16th minute. The supporters of 17 de enero team booed when Kroton F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davide Zangari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernesto Margoni's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Prospero Matxin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 23rd match minute, 17 de enero team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleto Estebano to maneuver through the defense. Comunardo Della Francesca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Matxin having to interfere. Matias Leguizamón might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elia Losito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matias Leguizamón ran back to his position shaking his head. Augusto Petrigai's late challenge caught a Kroton F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augusto Petrigai helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of 17 de enero team:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Kroton F.C.:s goal. Matias Leguizamón hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the game, Matias Leguizamón was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 17 de enero team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kroton F.C. the free kick. Prospero Matxin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Margoni's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Ernesto Margoni who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Prospero Matxin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardo Benat to make the kick off. Ernesto Margoni scored 2-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Prospero Matxin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Camillo Tellini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Baltasar Millano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baltasar Millano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Kroton F.C.'s Ernesto Margoni in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matias Leguizamón couldn't finish the play. Comunardo Della Francesca kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto Margoni in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Prospero Matxin saved 17 de enero team from getting behind. Elia Losito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Benat, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Ricardo Benat lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Elia Losito. Prospero Matxin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Margoni in the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute Ernesto Margoni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prospero Matxin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Cristiano Ciarrocchi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Prospero Matxin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Prospero Matxin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Margoni in the 94th minute of play. Cristiano Ciarrocchi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Prospero Matxin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kroton F.C. were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of 17 de enero team for a fine match.
