The audience thought a goal was coming when Horacio Neron got free with Bo Sillén in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Genaro Handi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias Bäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the match, Mathias Bäck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Genaro Handi. Bancruz F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mathias Bäck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Mathias Bäck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lite Finare Lite Bättre's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathias Bäck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Genaro Handi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ove Hökkvist to make the kick off.
