Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 150) When Abelardo Intxixu came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Club Atlético Magallanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Intxixu couldn't finish the play. 11 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Magallanes's Abelardo Intxixu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andy Gaston narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 13 minutes, Reynaldo Thacker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jagiellonia Denver's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reynaldo Thacker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Abelardo Intxixu put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Andy Gaston. The referee felt a red card was in order, 28 minutes into the game, when Clement McCormick put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Club Atlético Magallanes booed when Jagiellonia Denver was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clement McCormick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jagiellonia Denver's Andy Gaston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Cordeal in the 30th minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Club Atlético Magallanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Lobo to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 35 minutes, Reynaldo Thacker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jagiellonia Denver's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reynaldo Thacker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hoyt Dove received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Leon Oliverio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hoyt Dove had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Jagiellonia Denver getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Lane Ferland hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Mauro Lobo hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Leon Oliverio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reynaldo Thacker went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Abelardo Intxixu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Andy Gaston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Reynaldo Thacker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Club Atlético Magallanes's Abelardo Intxixu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Andy Gaston. Andy Gaston yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Andy Gaston came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético Magallanes's Abelardo Intxixu. But to his dismay, Abelardo Intxixu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 70th minute, Abelardo Intxixu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Abelardo Intxixu took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Andy Gaston to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Magallanes's Abelardo Intxixu got a free kick in the 77th minute. Andy Gaston made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lorenzo Tonete in the 81st minute. Jagiellonia Denver's Andy Gaston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Intxixu in the 82nd minute of play. Andy Gaston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Intxixu in the 84th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Abelardo Intxixu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andy Gaston. The goal made the score 1-5. 93 minutes into the game, Abelardo Intxixu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Magallanes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jagiellonia Denver the free kick. Leon Oliverio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Thacker in the 95th minute of play. The Club Atlético Magallanes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Atlético Magallanes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
