Lorenzo Tonete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Alexander Strzelczyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Abelardo Intxixu came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Club Atlético Magallanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Intxixu couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Otfried Lintorf managed to get in a good position for a shot. SSV Ulm 1846's supporters rose to their feet, but Otfried Lintorf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leon Oliverio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Schwemer in the 12th minute of play forced Club Atlético Magallanes's goalkeeper Leon Oliverio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Luka Roth sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Club Atlético Magallanes's Leon Oliverio didn't even have to move. If Romeo Confesor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After recieving a nice pass, SSV Ulm 1846's Luka Roth tried to score from far away in the 34th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Raul Xabel fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Magallanes's protests and gave Raul Xabel a yellow card for diving instead. Leon Oliverio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luka Roth, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 42 played minutes SSV Ulm 1846 got a freekick which was hit by Luka Roth. A collision led to SSV Ulm 1846 getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Klemens Hugo hit a great ball. In the 49th minute Club Atlético Magallanes were awarded a corner. Lorenzo Tonete went to the cornerflag to take it.

The wind increased when Abelardo Intxixu made the kick off in the second half. Abelardo Intxixu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. After 81 played minutes Club Atlético Magallanes got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Lobo. In the 85th minute, Amadeo Brase got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leon Oliverio made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Klemens Hugo sent off a good shot on target. Abelardo Intxixu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SSV Ulm 1846's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
