Thanks to some nice moves Jean de Moraes could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Sílvio Cordeiro however easily saved by the left post. Luisão Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexilhão F. C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fabinho Sarmento was slow to take the kick. During this time Ekzema F.V.'s players had a chance to rest. With his leg Sílvio Cordeiro managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Mexilhão F. C.'s Jean de Moraes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luisão Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuca Tróia in the 18th minute of play. Luisão Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The audience held their breath when Iuri Peixoto in the 42nd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Sílvio Cordeiro's left hand side. In the 44th minute, Jean de Moraes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexilhão F. C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Almir Loureiro made a kick off. Almir Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Cordeiro having to interfere. Ekzema F.V.'s Sílvio Cordeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean de Moraes in the 53rd minute of play. In the 53rd minute Jean de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Almir Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexilhão F. C.'s Luisão Seco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Mexilhão F. C. from getting a goal against them. Luisão Seco made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Samuca Tróia sent off a good shot on target. Claudinei Arantes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luisão Seco having to make a save. Luisão Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio de Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when Ekzema F.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Aparecido didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Mexilhão F. C.'s Almir Loureiro in action when he in the 80th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! With a little luck, Mexilhão F. C.'s Luisão Seco got control of the ball when Samuca Tróia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luisão Seco came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Ekzema F.V.'s Claudinei Arantes. But to his dismay, Claudinei Arantes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Sílvio Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexilhão F. C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
