Jacky Valkeneers helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th minute, Jacky Valkeneers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Izak Capellemans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elliot Rosendal in the 8th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Lions United's Tommi Uytebroeck got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute of the match Jarrett Maddern shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Izak Capellemans showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 12 played minutes Elderslie Magpies got a freekick which was hit by Duke Trenoweth. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lions United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jarrett Maddern was slow to take the kick. During this time Elderslie Magpies's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Jarrett Maddern got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Izak Capellemans quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Esteban Guerrero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Calstermans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Jarrett Maddern made a precise shot to the right of Izak Capellemans. Lions United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Izak Capellemans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo-Luís Nazário De Lima in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Elderslie Magpies's Esteban Guerrero got control of the ball when Mitch Hollandts tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Elderslie Magpies's Brendon Haslem got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 47th minute of the match, Mitch Hollandts tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Esteban Guerrero saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mitch Hollandts to make the kick off. In the 87th minute Gunter Van Bets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Guerrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Elderslie Magpies defense, Gunter Van Bets kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteban Guerrero. The Elderslie Magpies fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esteban Guerrero should have stopped the shot. After 91 played minutes Lions United got a freekick which was hit by Jorg Coenens. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elliot Rosendal during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
