The Grêmio FBPA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Melchor Felo hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Fidel Barrionuevo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Aquilino Jokin fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atletico Chusca's protests and gave Aquilino Jokin a yellow card for diving instead. Aquilino Jokin kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Aquilino Jokin came free, but Rui Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 21 minutes, Placido Hernandez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atletico Chusca and the Grêmio FBPA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fidel Barrionuevo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio FBPA. If Enrique Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Fidel Barrionuevo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Ramos in the 52nd minute of play. Armando Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Pires in the 62nd minute of play forced Club Atletico Chusca's goalkeeper Fidel Barrionuevo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ronaldo Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rafael Guifre 68 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. The referee ignored Grêmio FBPA's protests and gave Edu Veiga a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA's Edu Veiga got a free kick in the 74th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Aquilino Jokin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rui Varela. Grêmio FBPA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aquilino Jokin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. 86 minutes into the game, Club Atletico Chusca's Alonzo Lugo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rui Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. In the 90th minute, Club Atletico Chusca's Alonzo Lugo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. 94 minutes into the game, Alonzo Lugo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rui Varela. Alonzo Lugo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-6.
