Thomás Gaspar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jim Mitchell. Santos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 25th minute Rusty Little shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Wiliam França got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Finn hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. A collision led to Floripa Lions FSCMZ getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Betão Silva hit a great ball. Santos FC's Jim Mitchell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredão Castro in the 33rd minute of play. Rusty Little kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredão Castro in the 48th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Jim Mitchell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 57th minute, J.P. Delarosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Natã Rossi struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. In the 92nd minute, Betão Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Santos FC.
