In the 18th match minute, Floripa Lions FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomás Gaspar to maneuver through the defense. After 21 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Rusty Little. Alfredão Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Jim Mitchell made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Natã Rossi got a free kick in the 26th minute. Lawrence Smart took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Evaristo Siqueira. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natã Rossi in the 29th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Jim Mitchell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30thth minute of the game Betão Silva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santos FC's Jim Mitchell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
