Constantino Elija showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Gustavo de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Hugo Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andres Peru, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luisito Atauri received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hugo Diniz came out and tried to block the shot, but Luisito Atauri slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 43rd minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Luís Gustavo de Salles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Constantino Elija read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Constantino Elija acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 57th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Danilo Loyola. After a rather tough play, Yalapa's Leonides Gutxi got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 62 played minutes, Green Squad FC's Danilo Loyola shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Constantino Elija came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Green Squad FC reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Urbasa during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Yalapa getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Pedro Urbasa hit a great ball. Green Squad FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yalapa the free kick. After 67 played minutes Green Squad FC got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Loyola. Hugo Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisito Atauri in the 76th minute of play. Hugo Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andres Peru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Andres Peru, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 89 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Hugo Diniz was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
