Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th match minute, Quitilipi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Clemencin to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Quitilipi's goal looked a bit too open when Emiliano Anaya came free, but Guaberto Cebo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Federico Insúa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute, Emiliano Anaya left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Sílvio Luiz Goiano had in the 49thth minute some difficulties stopping Urbano Nuñez's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
After a defensive mix-up in Quitilipi's zone, Carlos Ruiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guaberto Cebo came out of the goal and Carlos Ruiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guaberto Cebo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Ruiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute Carlos Ruiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guaberto Cebo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro Sosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guaberto Cebo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Amaya in the 64th minute of play. Federico Insúa charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Federico Insúa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
