With a little luck, Gorgory's Melchor Chorache got control of the ball when Dudu Neiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. 4 minutes into the game, Basilio Dolfos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gorgory's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nautilus the free kick. Basilio Dolfos kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Gorgory's Melchor Chorache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho de Andrade in the 6th minute of play. Dorian Meireles hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. During the 9th minute of the match Basilio Dolfos completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Basilio Dolfos a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Gorgory getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Basilio Dolfos hit a great ball. Melchor Chorache made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard Ferreira in the 13th minute. Gorgory's Adolfo Ramone got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adolfo Ramone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Nautilus defense, Adolfo Ramone kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gil de Medeiros. The Nautilus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gil de Medeiros should have stopped the shot. Gil de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Ramone, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 25th match minute, Nautilus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João de Castro to maneuver through the defense. Gil de Medeiros came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Gorgory's Adolfo Ramone. But to his dismay, Adolfo Ramone quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Gil de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Ramone, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Adolfo Ramone blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gil de Medeiros having to make a save. When Adolfo Ramone came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Gorgory fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adolfo Ramone couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adolfo Ramone to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nautilus's goalkeeper Gil de Medeiros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Eduardo Laurgain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gil de Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Adolfo Ramone sent off a good shot on target. Gil de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Ramone in the 64th minute of play. Adolfo Ramones short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Gil de Medeiros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Nautilus's Tarcisio Favoretto got a free kick in the 71st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfo Ramone got free with Gil de Medeiros in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adolfo Ramone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Gil de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute of the match Laerte Tasso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Melchor Chorache skillfully saved the ball. Gorgory's Adolfo Ramone got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nautilus's Gil de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Ramone in the 88th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gorgory had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
