Remo Steingher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Gabon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabor Helfenstein during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chancy Olympique's Edgar Waltispühl got a free kick in the 13th minute. Remo Steingher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godofredo Gabon in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chancy Olympique's goalkeeper Remo Steingher, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd match minute, Chancy Olympique was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garrison Bühlmann to maneuver through the defense. Elvio Olo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remo Steingher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elvio Olo in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Remo Steingher saved Chancy Olympique from getting behind. Remo Steingher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elvio Olo's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Astudillo in the 37th minute of play forced Chancy Olympique's goalkeeper Remo Steingher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Chancy Olympique defense, Elvio Olo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Remo Steingher. The Chancy Olympique fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Remo Steingher should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Godofredo Gabon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Remo Steingher made a huge save. Anselmo Astudillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Godofredo Gabon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palermo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Godofredo Gabon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remo Steingher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the game, Lienhard DeGrasse was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chancy Olympique's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palermo AFC the free kick. In the 58th minute, Lienhard DeGrasse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palermo AFC's Elvio Olo got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 69 played minutes Chancy Olympique got a freekick which was hit by Zelimir Marty. 71 minutes into the match, Chancy Olympique's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Olo came free, but Remo Steingher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Palermo AFC's Blas Obano seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Blas Obano the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Palermo AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Blas Obano had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 76 minutes into the game, one of Palermo AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Chancy Olympique's Remo Steingher proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Chancy Olympique from getting a goal against them. Remo Steingher made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andres Leoncio in the 86th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Chancy Olympique's goalkeeper Remo Steingher had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godofredo Gabon. Severino Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Betz, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The Chancy Olympique fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Palermo AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
