The referee ignored Alex Team's protests and gave Afriz Cheng a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Club Sportivo Quilmes booed when Alex Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afriz Cheng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horacio Nisio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ion Chificeac read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. The corner ended in Vinicio Acuña almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Alex Team's Ion Chificeac did a great save. Eliseo Lope hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Balamir Kotuzhan's late challenge caught a Club Sportivo Quilmes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Balamir Kotuzhan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th match minute, Alex Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Balamir Kotuzhan to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Horacio Nisio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ion Chificeac was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If Ulises Fidele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Horacio Nisio came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Club Sportivo Quilmes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horacio Nisio couldn't finish the play. Ion Chificeac took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horacio Nisio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Abrudan in the 25th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Quilmes's goalkeeper Uriel Iratzeder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horacio Nisio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Ion Chificeac when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cornel Bodiu hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Uriel Iratzeder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Abrudan in the 67th minute. After 70 played minutes, Club Sportivo Quilmes's Tomás Ermano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ion Chificeac came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Sportivo Quilmes reached it. Ricardo Erosa kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Tomás Ermano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uriel Iratzeder acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 74th minute, took the ball on the long shot from João Francisco Moura. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horacio Nisio in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ion Chificeac saved Alex Team from getting behind. 84 minutes into the match, Alex Team's goal looked a bit too open when Horacio Nisio came free, but Ion Chificeac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute Horacio Nisio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ion Chificeac saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ion Chificeac showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horacio Nisio in the 89th minute of the match. If Emanuel Valente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Alex Team's goal looked a bit too open when Horacio Nisio came free, but Ion Chificeac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Club Sportivo Quilmes's Horacio Nisio in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
