But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ildefonso Balesio couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Estudiantes de América booed when INTER de Córdoba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Acevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ildefonso Balesio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aquiles Erruki. INTER de Córdoba's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Estudiantes de América getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aquiles Erruki, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Adrian Ospetsu came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by INTER de Córdoba's Lisandro Guter. But to his dismay, Lisandro Guter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 3-1 became the score in the 35th minute when Ildefonso Balesio elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to INTER de Córdoba getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Justo Lesardo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Ado got free with Aquiles Erruki in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Estudiantes de América made a substitution. Diego Banegas replaced Eustacio Rito. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Banegas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the game, Estudiantes de América's Bernardo Ado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aquiles Erruki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. In the 74th minute Diego Banegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquiles Erruki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Desiderio Ladio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, Ildefonso Balesio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aquiles Erruki was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. 84 minutes into the match, Melchor Evarado notched a goal, 9-1, to the right of INTER de Córdoba's Aquiles Erruki. Aquiles Erruki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 88 minutes into the match, INTER de Córdoba's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Banegas came free, but Aquiles Erruki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aquiles Erruki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Ado, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Aquiles Erruki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Melchor Evarado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 96 played minutes Estudiantes de América got a freekick which was hit by Ildefonso Balesio. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Estudiantes de América fully deserved thier win.
