Geronimo Gabrio came out of the goal and Bernardo Ado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th match minute, Estudiantes de América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elvio Paublo to maneuver through the defense. In the 31stth minute of the game Ildefonso Balesio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Curumalán AFC's Geronimo Gabrio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juan Bermudez hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. When Bernardo Ado fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estudiantes de América's protests and gave Bernardo Ado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th minute, Bernardo Ado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Estudiantes de América's Ildefonso Balesio got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diego Chorche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Ospetsu having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de América's Elvio Paublo got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute, Alan Velasco made a precise shot to the right of Adrian Ospetsu. Estudiantes de América's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Diego Chorche charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diego Chorche the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience was convinced that Isaias Caetano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geronimo Gabrio was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
