Lucio Hernandez made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Wes Mejia sent off a good shot on target. Wes Mejia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucio Hernandez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 21st minute by Wes Mejia got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Lucio Hernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronnie Sutherland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Nina fc's goalkeeper Lucio Hernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wes Mejia. Kip Velazquez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nina fc's Lucio Hernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wes Mejia in the 32nd minute of play. A hard shot 36 in the game by Wes Mejia from a close distance when the talented Lucio Hernandez managed to make a qualified save. Nina fc's players were relieved. Wes Mejia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wes Mejias short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Lucio Hernandez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some careless play in the Nina fc defense, Wes Mejia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucio Hernandez. The Nina fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucio Hernandez should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wes Mejia was the one to do the kick off. After recieving a nice pass, Nina fc's Ciriaco Frederik tried to score from far away in the 66th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ronnie Sutherland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Lucio Hernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wes Mejia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd match minute, Nina fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Silvanito to maneuver through the defense. Lucio Hernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wes Mejia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
