Potentia's Naci Ünüvar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save S.C. Potentia from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, S.C. Potentia's Ferdi Apotheker got a free kick in the 7th minute. Marcus Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Xurupita FC's Belmiro Paraíba got a free kick in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Belmiro Paraíba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luiz Fábio Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcus Meirelles to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Marcus Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naci Ünüvar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Naci Ünüvar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belmiro Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute, Ronny Roewen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Eliseu Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Xurupita FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseu Linhares couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Xurupita FC booed when S.C. Potentia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bob Hindriks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Naci Ünüvar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 85th minute Bob Hindriks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fábio Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronny Roewen during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 89 played minutes S.C. Potentia got a freekick which was hit by Ronny Roewen. In the 95th minute, S.C. Potentia's Gregor Ranzijn dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Xurupita FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though S.C. Potentia had controlled the match.
