Belmiro Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ivan Strugure tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, José Paulo Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A long shot from Iurie Negrescu in the 17th minute of play was well struck, but Luiz Fábio Amorim made a really good save at the right post. Vama Veche ™'s Ivan Strugure played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belmiro Paraíba in the 19th minute of play. If Adrian Paraschivescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fábio Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrian Paraschivescu in the 23rd minute. 30 minutes into the match, Vama Veche ™'s goal looked a bit too open when Eliseu Linhares came free, but Ivan Strugure reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Fábio Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iurie Negrescu in the 31st minute of the match. Ivan Strugure took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belmiro Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Meirelles struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Ivan Strugure didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xurupita FC. In the 45th minute Eliseu Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Strugure saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Adrian Paraschivescu made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Vama Veche ™'s zone, Marcus Meirelles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Strugure came out of the goal and Marcus Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute, Eliseu Linhares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Xurupita FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Ivan Strugure was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marcus Meirelles showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 64 minute of play. The supporters of Vama Veche ™ booed when Xurupita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Adrian Paraschivescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Strugure showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Paraíba in the 74th minute of the match. After 77 minutes of play, Xurupita FC's Belmiro Paraíba made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Strugure was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vama Veche ™'s Ivan Strugure proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Vama Veche ™ from getting a goal against them. Marcus Meirelles might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Strugure. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcus Meirelles ran back to his position shaking his head. When José Paulo Cardozo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 89 minutes had been played. Francisco da Silveira's late challenge caught a Vama Veche ™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco da Silveira helped the player get up and apologised. When Costică Simionaş fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vama Veche ™'s protests and gave Costică Simionaş a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th match minute, Vama Veche ™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costică Simionaş to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Xurupita FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
