Giannis Tzanetos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Naci Ünüvar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fanis Kokkinopoulos in the 8th minute of play forced S.C. Potentia's goalkeeper Naci Ünüvar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chatziioannou Liadelis's late challenge caught a S.C. Potentia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chatziioannou Liadelis helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of ΟΦΗ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S.C. Potentia:s goal. The referee gave S.C. Potentia a penalty, 11 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Geale van den Brink, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of ΟΦΗ's Theofanis Marinakis. 0-1. S.C. Potentia's Naci Ünüvar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giannis Tzanetos in the 20th minute of play. Giannis Tzanetos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Naci Ünüvar skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Naci Ünüvar was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Iordanis Drambas. A collision led to ΟΦΗ getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Michalis Semos hit a great ball. Ferdi Apotheker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theofanis Marinakis having to interfere. Nikos Kalkavouras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Waterreus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Theofanis Marinakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as ΟΦΗ's Michalis Semos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Naci Ünüvar. That made the score 1-1 after 37 minutes of play. Naci Ünüvar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nikos Kalkavouras in the 41st minute. With a little luck, S.C. Potentia's Naci Ünüvar got control of the ball when Giannis Tzanetos tried to sneak it across the goal line. S.C. Potentia's Naci Ünüvar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save S.C. Potentia from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Ilias Lazanas went to the cornerflag to take it. Ilias Lazanas made a great header on ΟΦΗ's corner, it was just that S.C. Potentia's Naci Ünüvar managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 82nd minute Giannis Tzanetos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naci Ünüvar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giannis Tzanetos in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Naci Ünüvar saved S.C. Potentia from getting behind. Naci Ünüvar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fanis Kokkinopoulos in the 85th minute of play. S.C. Potentia's Naci Ünüvar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giannis Tzanetos in the 88th minute of play. Naci Ünüvar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giannis Tzanetos, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fanis Kokkinopoulos in the 89th minute of play forced S.C. Potentia's goalkeeper Naci Ünüvar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Potentia's goal looked a bit too open when Fanis Kokkinopoulos came free, but Naci Ünüvar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Naci Ünüvar came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by ΟΦΗ's Fanis Kokkinopoulos. But to his dismay, Fanis Kokkinopoulos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. ΟΦΗ's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
