Spectators: 7132 (Terracing: 5622, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 10) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eduardo Mascareñas started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Joaquin Soter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jairo Collador made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Ezequiel Aurre sent off a good shot on target. 12 minutes into the match, Astros de México's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Mascareñas came free, but Rigoberto Ilixo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Collador showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guido Salomon in the 16th minute of the match. Astros de México's Paulo Román came free and shot a quick shot against goal 18 minutes in the game, fortunately Jairo Collador had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 20th minute, Angulo Cabañero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Paulo Román notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador. Jairo Collador was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jairo Collador didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angulo Cabañero went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Jairo Collador made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Román in the 31st minute. After 31 minutes, Eduardo Mascareñas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liga de Quito and the Astros de México players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eduardo Mascareñas kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Liga de Quito from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador got control of the ball when Angulo Cabañero tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Astros de México booed when Liga de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Ibaute didn't get a good kick on the ball. Checa Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Jairo Collador made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Román in the 39th minute of play. Astros de México's Rigoberto Ilixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Ibaute in the 41st minute of play. Rigoberto Ilixo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urbano Pacio, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After 45 minutes Astros de México's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mateo Cancel who took care of the corner kick. Liga de Quito's Mateo Cancel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rigoberto Ilixo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 46 played minutes Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Velasco Ilarraza. Angulo Cabañero took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jairo Collador. Jairo Collador dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guido Salomon to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Román came free, but Jairo Collador reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquin Soter came free, but Jairo Collador reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Astros de México's Angulo Cabañero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jairo Collador narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Liga de Quito's Checa Cerezo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vito Quintal, made in the 65th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Liga de Quito defense, Guido Salomon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jairo Collador. The Liga de Quito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jairo Collador should have stopped the shot. 72 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Angulo Cabañero came free, but Jairo Collador reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudio Suárez hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Rigoberto Ilixo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Ibaute in the 74th minute of the match. Jairo Collador came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Astros de México's Ezequiel Aurre. But to his dismay, Ezequiel Aurre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. 81 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Angulo Cabañero came free, but Jairo Collador reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Collador took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Salomon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jairo Collador made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Román in the 85th minute of play. Guido Salomon took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jairo Collador. Jairo Collador dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-1. Jose Dolfo hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Checa Cerezo in the 91st minute of play forced Astros de México's goalkeeper Rigoberto Ilixo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Liga de Quito's Eduardo Mascareñas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rigoberto Ilixo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-2.
