Jairo Collador showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Isaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After a rather tough play, EL CERVECERO F.C.'s Antonio Ospetsu got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Jairo Collador stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfonso Isaio's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Mateo Cancel put in a rough tackle. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Liga de Quito! In the 49th minute, Alfonso Isaio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EL CERVECERO F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nestor Ibaute to make the kick off. In the 60th minute, Luisito Aragones reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jairo Collador. The goal made the score 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Liga de Quito's zone, Omar Dolcet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Collador came out of the goal and Omar Dolcet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nestor Ibaute recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfonso Isaio got free with Jairo Collador in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Nestor Ibaute had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zeledon Bravain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Arnaldo Macerio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfonso Isaio got free with Jairo Collador in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the match, Urbano Pacio notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of EL CERVECERO F.C.'s Arnaldo Macerio. Arnaldo Macerio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jairo Collador took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisito Aragones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aquiles Ferrando might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jairo Collador. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnaldo Macerio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liga de Quito. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. EL CERVECERO F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
