Spectators: 7496 (Terracing: 5623, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) Liga de Quito's Eduardo Mascareñas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nicolae Boboc's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jairo Collador firmly grabbed it by the left post. 6 minutes into the game, Checa Cerezo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liga de Quito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. YKE the free kick. After 6 played minutes Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Checa Cerezo. F.C. YKE were furious when Cazimir Puișoru was red carded, 15 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Cazimir Puișoru kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Helmuth Duckadam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateo Cancel, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute of the match Liga de Quito got a corner. F.C. YKE's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mateo Cancel ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Liga de Quito's corner Mateo Cancel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Helmuth Duckadam quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Liga de Quito's Moreta Casanueva got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 30th minute Nestor Ibaute shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmuth Duckadam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Liga de Quito's zone, Nicolae Boboc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Collador came out of the goal and Nicolae Boboc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jairo Collador made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Nicolae Boboc sent off a good shot on target. Helmuth Duckadam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Pacio in the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stelian Băcioiu to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Emanuel Şimoc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jairo Collador was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Nestor Ibaute kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Jairo Collador showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolae Boboc, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute Nicolae Boboc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Collador saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th match minute, Liga de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Ibaute to maneuver through the defense. Nicolae Boboc took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jairo Collador. Jairo Collador dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 80 minutes into the game, Santo Rubion was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liga de Quito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. YKE the free kick. Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolae Boboc in the 82nd minute of play. Checa Cerezo was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 86 played minutes Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Checa Cerezo. 90 minutes into the match, Emanuel Şimoc notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador. Jairo Collador was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nicolae Boboc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jairo Collador made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolae Boboc in the 95th minute of play. Santo Rubion hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. F.C. YKE fully deserved thier win.
