In the 14th minute Bernardo Mingo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Urbano Berto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hilario Ubendu came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Vampiros Aztecas's Teo Lon. But to his dismay, Teo Lon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Arixo in the 23rd minute of play forced Vampiros Aztecas's goalkeeper Urbano Berto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Gimnasia y tiro's Hilario Ubendu got control of the ball when Roberto Balendin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Roberto Balendin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Hilario Ubendu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hilario Ubendu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Evangelista in the 29th minute. In the 30th match minute, Vampiros Aztecas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teo Lon to maneuver through the defense. Marco Evangelista charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardo Mingo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, Gimnasia y tiro's Bernardo Mingo made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Urbano Berto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arturo Serafo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Hilario Ubendu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Arixo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Urbano Berto made a huge save. But to his dismay, Arturo Serafo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1.
