Amancio Magdaleno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th minute, Jefferson Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jairo Formerio charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jairo Formerio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Formerio to maneuver through the defense. Amancio Magdaleno didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hélio Cosme went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Rene Bernabel charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rene Bernabel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd minute, Rene Bernabel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, André Luiz Cabral made a precise shot to the right of Amancio Magdaleno. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélio Cosme to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 1-4 when André Luiz Cabral sped through NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Amancio Magdaleno. 59 minutes into the match, Aesir FC FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Mundo came free, but Gerson Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, André Luiz Cabral dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Amancio Magdaleno, 1-5. Hélio Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amancio Magdaleno having to interfere. Aesir FC FSCMZ's Gerson Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Apolo Richie in the 68th minute of play. With a little luck, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Amancio Magdaleno got control of the ball when Hélio Cosme tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 75 minutes, Hélio Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aesir FC FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélio Cosme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Antonio Mundo got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Aesir FC FSCMZ's Jefferson Rodrigues got a free kick in the 85th minute. Gerson Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Mundo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when André Luiz Cabral came free, but Amancio Magdaleno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rene Bernabel got his second yellow card in the match during the 90th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 95th minute André Luiz Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Magdaleno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aesir FC FSCMZ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
