Rene Bernabel hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Baltasar Rios hit a great ball. Jeremias Kismi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antonio Mundo in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, TotoRACING's goalkeeper Jeremias Kismi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Mundo. Antonio Mundo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Jeremias Kismi made a huge save. Jeremias Kismi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltasar Rios in the 11th minute of play. Amancio Magdaleno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Phelipe in the 14th minute of play. Jeremias Kismi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Goiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Apolo Richie in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye TotoRACING's goalie prevented a goal. Baltasar Rios's late challenge caught a TotoRACING's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baltasar Rios helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th minute, Baltasar Rios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, TotoRACING's goal looked a bit too open when Apolo Richie came free, but Jeremias Kismi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baltasar Rios's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jeremias Kismi firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jeremias Kismi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apolo Richie in the 36th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in TotoRACING's zone, Apolo Richie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremias Kismi came out of the goal and Apolo Richie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Jairo Formerio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jeremias Kismi, 1-1. When Artemio Goiz came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artemio Goiz couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Higinio Romelio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Jairo Formerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Kismi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jairo Formerio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeremias Kismi was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Carlos Romo kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. A collision led to TotoRACING getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Carlos Romo hit a great ball. Jeremias Kismi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Formerio in the 59th minute of the match. In the 63rd match minute, TotoRACING was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Higinio Romelio to maneuver through the defense. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Artemio Goiz got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 66 minutes into the game, Roberto Lucila cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Amancio Magdaleno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 68th minute, TotoRACING's Roberto Lucila ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amancio Magdaleno. Amancio Magdaleno yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. 72 minutes into the game, Camilo Phelipe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TotoRACING's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NEWELL´S OLD BOYS the free kick. The supporters of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS booed when TotoRACING was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Phelipe didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to TotoRACING getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Leon Iturri hit a great ball. Jeremias Kismi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apolo Richie, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Jeremias Kismi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Formerio in the 78th minute of play. Jeremias Kismi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Mundo in the 80th minute of play. Jeremias Kismi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Formerio, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After 81 minutes of play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Jairo Formerio made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jeremias Kismi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jeremias Kismi came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Apolo Richie. But to his dismay, Apolo Richie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. In the 90th minute Artemio Goiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Kismi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apolo Richie might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeremias Kismi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Apolo Richie ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Artemio Goiz got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Amancio Magdaleno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Lucila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rene Bernabel lost his temper 95 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Rene Bernabel hit a great ball. In the 97th minute Leon Iturri managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal.
