Spectators: 7640 (Terracing: 5731, Seating: 1757, VIP seats: 152) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eike Schmidt started the match with the kick off. Amancio Magdaleno came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's Rolando Ottonello. But to his dismay, Rolando Ottonello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Amancio Magdaleno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Ottonello in the 7th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rolando Ottonello in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amancio Magdaleno saved NEWELL´S OLD BOYS from getting behind. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Antonio Mundo got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Jan-Benedikt Bresagk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christopher Benscheider showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Mundo in the 15th minute of the match. Christopher Benscheider took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Mundo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolando Ottonello in the 21st minute of play forced NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Amancio Magdaleno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 minutes of play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Jairo Formerio made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christopher Benscheider was left in no man's land by his defense there! NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Rolando Ottonello scored to the left of an out of position Amancio Magdaleno, making the score, 2-2. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Baltasar Rios suffered a concussion after 34 minutes and had to leave the field. 34 minutes into the game, Jan-Benedikt Bresagk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NEWELL´S OLD BOYS the free kick. After 34 played minutes Sc Ajax Hirtenberg got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Benedikt Bresagk. Jairo Formerio hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Jairo Formerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christopher Benscheider saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sc Ajax Hirtenberg booed when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Mundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Eike Schmidt sped through NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Amancio Magdaleno. Rolando Ottonello received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Amancio Magdaleno came out and tried to block the shot, but Rolando Ottonello slotted it home off the left post making it 4-2 in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Apolo Richie made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Eike Schmidt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amancio Magdaleno was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. 57 minutes into the game, Antonio Mundo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sc Ajax Hirtenberg the free kick. 63 minutes into the game, Joacim Hansson threw the ball into play from the sideline. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Augusto Dei quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Apolo Richie's late challenge caught a Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Apolo Richie helped the player get up and apologised. Apolo Richie kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 65 minutes, Eike Schmidt made it 6-2 with a short kick to the right side. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Amancio Magdaleno tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's Eike Schmidt in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a defensive mix-up in NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's zone, Rolando Ottonello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amancio Magdaleno came out of the goal and Rolando Ottonello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Rolando Ottonello left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sc Ajax Hirtenberg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-2. Augusto Dei was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 82 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Amancio Magdaleno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eike Schmidt in the 88th minute of play.
