A collision led to Sc Ajax Hirtenberg getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Frederik Rohde hit a great ball. After 6 played minutes, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Apolo Richie shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Christopher Benscheider came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in NEWELL´S OLD BOYS reached it. Amancio Magdaleno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eike Schmidt in the 13th minute of play. After 17 minutes of play, Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's Rolando Ottonello made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amancio Magdaleno was left in no man's land by his defense there! With an all-out effort, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Christopher Benscheider threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Apolo Richie, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's Christopher Benscheider proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Sc Ajax Hirtenberg from getting a goal against them. Amancio Magdaleno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eike Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. René Krug took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amancio Magdaleno. Amancio Magdaleno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Teobaldo Mede hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the game, Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's Eike Schmidt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amancio Magdaleno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The audience was convinced that Apolo Richie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christopher Benscheider was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 40th minute, René Krug left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sc Ajax Hirtenberg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 44th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artemio Goiz to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Sc Ajax Hirtenberg booed when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltasar Rios didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruben Tepper was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sc Ajax Hirtenberg were winning 0-4.

Amancio Magdaleno was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Eike Schmidt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eike Schmidt really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. A hard shot 56 in the game by Eike Schmidt from a close distance when the talented Amancio Magdaleno managed to make a qualified save. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's players were relieved. If Eike Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sc Ajax Hirtenberg fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's Eike Schmidt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolo Richie in the 69th minute of play forced Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's goalkeeper Christopher Benscheider to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eike Schmidt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Amancio Magdaleno when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 75 minutes into the match, Eike Schmidt dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Amancio Magdaleno, 0-7. In the 80thth minute of the game Rolando Ottonello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Amancio Magdaleno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amancio Magdaleno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rolando Ottonello in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Eike Schmidt came free, but Amancio Magdaleno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amancio Magdaleno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eike Schmidt in the 86th minute of play. Amancio Magdaleno made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Eike Schmidt sent off a good shot on target. Apolo Richie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's zone, Antonio Mundo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christopher Benscheider came out of the goal and Antonio Mundo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Sc Ajax Hirtenberg could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than NEWELL´S OLD BOYS throughout the match.
