Spectators: 7540 (Terracing: 5656, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rıfkı Tanpınar started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Göran Rudkvist notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Gençlerbirliği's Güner Tarancı. Güner Tarancı was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rıfkı Tanpınar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Viberg having to interfere. Mathias Dahlquist scored 3-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Güner Tarancı, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Güner Tarancı made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mathias Valström in the 23rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rıfkı Tanpınar in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefan Viberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute of the match Arslan Songurhan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stefan Viberg skillfully saved the ball. In the 38th minute Göran Rudkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Güner Tarancı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Gençlerbirliği getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Gencer Sair hit a great ball. Şenol Saatçioğlu hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Gençlerbirliği's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Villiam Gerdberg scored to the left of an out of position Güner Tarancı, making the score, 5-0. Güner Tarancı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias Dahlquist in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roy Ahlbom to make the kick off. Güner Tarancı came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Gnisvärd bk's Mathias Dahlquist. But to his dismay, Mathias Dahlquist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Villiam Gerdberg hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Güner Tarancı took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias Dahlquist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rıfkı Tanpınar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Gençlerbirliği's Cüneyd Umman got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 75th minute, Mathias Dahlquist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gnisvärd bk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Güner Tarancı took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Ahlbom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roy Ahlbom kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Gençlerbirliği's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
