Herald Dujardin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gigel Rânceanu came out and tried to block the shot, but Herald Dujardin slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 13th minute. Aurel Halipa took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adam de Reyck. Adam de Reyck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Andrei Vârjean scored 2-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adam de Reyck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gigel Rânceanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harold Reynders in the 30th minute. Harold Reynders charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Harold Reynders the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Fotbal Club Vaslui booed when Olavarria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harold Reynders didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stephen Camps hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, Mugurel Răduț sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Olavarria FC's Adam de Reyck didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Halipa in the 47th minute of play forced Olavarria FC's goalkeeper Adam de Reyck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harold Reynders was the one to do the kick off. Andrei Vârjean kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. A collision led to Olavarria FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Lauren Deconynck hit a great ball. Olavarria FC's Adam de Reyck proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Olavarria FC from getting a goal against them. After 55 played minutes Fotbal Club Vaslui got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Răduț. Gigel Rânceanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harold Reynders in the 63rd minute of the match. When Víglundur von der Schulenburg fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fotbal Club Vaslui's protests and gave Víglundur von der Schulenburg a yellow card for diving instead.
