Spectators: 7553 (Terracing: 5666, Seating: 1737, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mingo Torrente started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Mingo Torrente made a precise shot to the right of Marco Gonzalez. Los Colegas del Barrio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 10 minutes into the game, Mingo Torrente recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marco Gonzalez. Mingo Torrente showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Cesar Cordairo kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Mingo Torrente kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Lizar. After a rather tough play, Los Colegas del Barrio's Eutropio Harroyo got a free kick in the 18th minute. Mingo Torrente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Newells Old Boys's Mingo Torrente ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marco Gonzalez. Marco Gonzalez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Los Colegas del Barrio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cordarin Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Antonio Canal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Nahia Sierra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Colegas del Barrio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nahia Sierra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberto Txurio came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Colegas del Barrio's Nahia Sierra. But to his dismay, Nahia Sierra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Eutropio Harroyo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Los Colegas del Barrio's Marco Gonzalez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mingo Torrente in the 41st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cesar Cordairo during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cesar Cordairo hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Los Colegas del Barrio's Josepe Mangas tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nahia Sierra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marco Gonzalez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mingo Torrente, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Los Colegas del Barrio's Marco Gonzalez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mingo Torrente in the 58th minute of play. Nahia Sierra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Alberto Txurio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Los Colegas del Barrio made a substitution. Leo Dorado replaced Josepe Mangas. A collision led to Newells Old Boys getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Cesar Cordairo hit a great ball. Antonio Canal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Los Colegas del Barrio's zone, Mingo Torrente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Gonzalez came out of the goal and Mingo Torrente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 76th minute, Eutropio Harroyo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, Mingo Torrente left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newells Old Boys fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Mingo Torrente scored 6-1 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Gonzalez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marco Gonzalez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mingo Torrente in the 96th minute of the match. Many of Los Colegas del Barrio's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Los Colegas del Barrio may have spent more time on the ball, but Newells Old Boys were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
