An unexpectedly hard shot by Eraldo Di Matteo in the 5th minute of play forced Aguinhas's goalkeeper Guto Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Vitório Lago kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fortunato Proia. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Aguinhas's Cléberson Leme was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 10th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 14 played minutes Cesate got a freekick which was hit by Franco De Marco. In the 18th minute Frank Magliocco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fortunato Proia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Ortiz in the 21st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ennio Grasso in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guto Martins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Júlio Donatello hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 25th match minute, Aguinhas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelsinho Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Cesate's Eraldo Di Matteo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guto Martins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Guto Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eraldo Di Matteo, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Aguinhas's Guto Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Magliocco in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 played minutes Aguinhas got a freekick which was hit by Renatinho Braga. After 35 played minutes, Cesate's Adriano Di Marco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Guto Martins came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cesate reached it. If Demetrio Borrelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guto Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Di Marco in the 38th minute of play. Aguinhas's Júlio Donatello got his second yellow card of the match in the 39th minute. The referee ordered Júlio Donatello off the ground. After a rather tough play, Aguinhas's Júlio Donatello got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 43rdth minute of the game Tiago Gabriel Arósio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cesate's Fortunato Proia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Demetrio Borrelli to strike the kick off in the second half. Frank Magliocco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Guto Martins made a huge save. If Tiago Gabriel Arósio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fortunato Proia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitório Lago in the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of Aguinhas booed when Cesate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Magliocco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cesate's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
