Machine Gun Kelly's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Guilherme Donato was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Carolo Ruisko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Donato in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Felipe Gurutz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dagoberto Rosa came free with the goalkeeper in the 36th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Carolo Ruisko could save by the left post. 39 minutes into the match, Cayetano Ihintza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fabiano Baptista. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Guilherme Donato stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Dagoberto Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carolo Ruisko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 53 minutes into the game, when Miguel Mendonça put in a rough tackle. Cayetano Ihintza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
