Spectators: 7530 (Terracing: 5649, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Maria Socorro started the match with the kick off. When Edinho Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Barra EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edinho Carvalho couldn't finish the play. Miau Stars's Dinei Carioca got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Miau Stars's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Dito Vander scored to the left of an out of position Sidney Queirós, making the score, 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Barra EC's goal looked a bit too open when Maria Socorro came free, but Rômulo Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rômulo Camargo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Miau Stars's Sidney Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Carvalho in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute of the match Barra EC got a corner. Miau Stars's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Manuel Loyola ran over to the corner to take the kick. Barra EC's Manuel Loyola was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sidney Queirós in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Maria Socorro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the game, Maria Socorro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Rômulo Camargo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Barra EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Miau Stars were winning 1-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edinho Carvalho made a kick off. Rômulo Camargo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maria Socorro in the 56th minute. Maria Socorro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Rômulo Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Miau Stars getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Nildo Ribeiro hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Luís de Amaral during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Barra EC's André Luís de Amaral got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 66th match minute, Miau Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdir Lopez to maneuver through the defense.
