Mădălin Vintilescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sidney Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Valdir Lopez hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Sidney Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viorel Lelescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute Rodrigo das Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Noica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcel Noica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Washington Corrêa in the 10th minute of the match. If Washington Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 15 minutes, Gelu Curuțiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fc S.Zaharesti and the Miau Stars players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Miau Stars booed when Fc S.Zaharesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Curuțiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antônio Carlos Mello took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcel Noica. Fc S.Zaharesti's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Fc S.Zaharesti booed when Miau Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Washington Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Fc S.Zaharesti's Viorel Lelescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sidney Queirós. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Ilie Tolea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Queirós having to interfere. In the 27th minute Mădălin Vintilescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miau Stars were furious when Rubinho Vasconcelos was red carded, 27 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 27th minute, one of Miau Stars:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Miau Stars. 35 minutes into the match, Nilson Soares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcel Noica. Fc S.Zaharesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilson Soares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Nilson Soares hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruy Passos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Fc S.Zaharesti's zone, Washington Corrêa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Noica came out of the goal and Washington Corrêa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sidney Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ilie Tolea in the 57th minute of play. Petru Popan's late challenge caught a Miau Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Petru Popan helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Fc S.Zaharesti's Petru Popan got a free kick in the 61st minute. Miau Stars's Gildo Dracena got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 65 played minutes Fc S.Zaharesti got a freekick which was hit by Ilie Tolea. When Mădălin Vintilescu came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Fc S.Zaharesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mădălin Vintilescu couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Miau Stars's zone, Viorel Lelescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidney Queirós came out of the goal and Viorel Lelescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd match minute, Miau Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo das Neves to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute, Viorel Lelescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sidney Queirós didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Viorel Lelescu went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Fc S.Zaharesti defense, Gildo Dracena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcel Noica. The Fc S.Zaharesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcel Noica should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruy Passos in the 83rd minute of play forced Fc S.Zaharesti's goalkeeper Marcel Noica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute Viorel Lelescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viorel Lelescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fc S.Zaharesti were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Miau Stars for a fine match.
