Spectators: 7511 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 150) Paulão Rossi started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. With a little luck, Diablos Rojos's Celestino Villamañan got control of the ball when Paulão Rossi tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaldo Marquez got free with Celestino Villamañan in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emílio Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oidor Cerda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Diablos Rojos's goal looked a bit too open when Jarbas Corrêa came free, but Celestino Villamañan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celestino Villamañan made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Paulão Rossi sent off a good shot on target. Oidor Cerda hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oidor Cerda to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Cordero Sotomayor reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Emílio Peres. The goal made the score 0-2. Emílio Peres was a little too slow when Gaston Durango got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-3. After having played for 59 minutes, Cordero Sotomayor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diablos Rojos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cordero Sotomayor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Jarbas Corrêa notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Diablos Rojos's Celestino Villamañan. Celestino Villamañan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diguinho Abreu during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emílio Peres was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Xaime Guillarte. Elano Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Gaston Durango kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emílio Peres. That made the score 1-4 in the 96 minute of play. Diablos Rojos's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
