After 18 minutes of play, City Friseur Wuppertal's Tuna Selim made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 23rd minute of the match, Battal Cüneyt İhtişam got a very nice opportunity to score, but Åke Gustafsson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Sven-Ove Thedin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aysan Ünlüsoy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. If Sven-Ove Thedin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Ove Thedin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aysan Ünlüsoy having to interfere. After 35 minutes of play, Ghost Hunters's Sven-Ove Thedin made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ghost Hunters's Åke Gustafsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Battal Cüneyt İhtişam in the 40th minute of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Sven-Ove Thedin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ghost Hunters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Ove Thedin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
