In the 28th minute, Nicolas Cordarryl ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benigno Bernaldo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Baldomero Jatsu hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After 34 played minutes La Cosa Nostra got a freekick which was hit by Casimiro Pacorro. A collision led to La Cosa Nostra getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Carmelo Iraido hit a great ball. Nicolas Cordarryl's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benigno Bernaldo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
